From blueberries to building supplies there is a perhaps surprising variety and number of businesses and organizations ready to serve in the communities of West Elgin and Dutton Dunwich. The Western Elgin Community Expo highlighted that fact by bringing fifty-five of them together at the International Club between West Lorne and Rodney, and inviting the public to see what's available in their community.

A steady stream of visitors checked out the services and information being showcased Saturday. Just a few of the many exhibitors are pictured below.
  1. Bluegroves Farms (Hwy #3 Eagle) teamed up with The Arts & Cookery Bank to
present Chef Cindy Bircham's blueberry tarts.
  2. Chris Moore of the West Elgin Dramatics Society will direct "Dear Santa" written by Norm Foster, playing at the Dutton Town Hall Dec 5-14. Find out more at www.weds.ca
  3. Shawn Sabo & Caitlin Van Raes were on hand to demonstrate the custom embroidery services of Team Sabo Custom Embroidery in Dutton.
  4. Paul Shields works for Rodney Building and Metal Products, a new retail hardware and lumber store in Rodney which opened this past June. They can be reached at 519-785-1619. Official Grand Opening is scheduled in spring 2014.
  5. Mary Jocius of Erie Gardens Floral Studio presented just a few samples of her floral creativity. Located at 8966 Furnival Road, she can be reached at 519-785-0487.
  6.  Kristin Mylrea from Dutton Meadows Golf Club provided information on the club and showed off one of their golf carts, available for rental.
