Celebrate Canadian music and the first day of spring  with folk legend Valdy on March 20th. Spring equinox officially arrives at 6:45pm, just ahead of Valdy’s performance on the Port Stanley Festival Theatre stage, an event which is also a fundraiser for the theatre.
Valdy has sold almost half a million copies of his 14 albums, has two Juno Awards (Folk Singer of the Year and Folk Entertainer of the Year), 22 singles, and 4 Gold Records. He has been part of the fabric of Canadian pop and folk music for over 34 years. A man with a thousand friends, from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island to Texas to New Zealand, he's a singer, guitarist and songwriter who catches the small but telling moments that make up life.
“It is very exciting to have Valdy back with us for this unique fundraiser,” says Theatre Manager Melissa Kempf.

Opening for Valdy will be Ontario native, Tia McGraff with her husband Tommy Parham.  With 6 CD releases, 4 CMT videos, 15 years of main stage festivals and headline concert performances, Parham and McGraff still have a passion for song writing ‘outside the box.’  McGraff will release her new album, Crazy Beautiful, during this spectacular fundraiser.

Cash bar will be available. Purchase tickets through the theatre’s box office (519)782-4353 or online www.portstanleytheatre.ca
