More than fifty artists of the St. Thomas Elgin Artists' Guild presented a beautiful showcase of their work in the historic CASO Railway Station from Nov 7th to 9th. 'Twas the Art Before Christmas is the group's only show of the year and is always a chance to chat with many local artists and see what they have been working on. (It's also a welcome addition to unique Christmas shopping possibilities.) |
Many of the artists were on hand - on Friday, pictured above are Sine Maule - sold! (2nd row, middle), Kit Cutting (bottom row, left) and Marcia Pensa (bottom row, right). The show was adjudicated by Candy MacManiman who awarded Judge's Choice recognition to Kit's "Schooner" and Marcia's "Shore Trio". Candy commended Kit's work, "The sky and dog colours radiate a warmth and complement each other and lead you to the face." Of Marcia's work, she noted, "It catches your eye from across the room ... Diagonal line of birds take you across the painting but the blue area pushes you back to the birds."
