The Port Bruce Fish Fry is an anticipated annual event, with volunteers serving up a tasty perch dinner and helping to raise funds for the projects of the Port Bruce Ratepayers Association. It seems to grow each year, with attendance for the 2014 edition of around 410 people feasting on 325 lbs of Lake Erie yellow perch.
Association secretary, Linda Newman, said that the event helps the group with initiatives like the annual July Perch Derby, an August long weekend dance, movies in the park on summer weekends and the recent refurbishment of the Port Bruce welcome sign.
