Since spring of this year, St. Thomas Economic Development has invited community members to get thinking, talking and excited about St. Thomas with the #stthomasproud campaign. It has been a joint effort of the EDC, Elgin-St. Thomas Small Business Enterprise Centre, Railway City Tourism and, of course, many community members who have gotten on board and shared the reasons they are proud of St. Thomas. The campaign was recognized by the Economic Developers Association of Canada at their annual conference, this past week, with a Marketing Canada Award for excellence in Online Community Outreach. |
Although the award is a nice bonus for those who have worked on the campaign and for the city, Manager of St. Thomas EDC Sean Dyke notes that it is not finished. “We are looking to continue to push this campaign over the next year and continue to let people know that we are proud to be in St. Thomas and we could use your help. Please take a moment to make a short video or take some photos that represent why you’re proud of our community and post it on www.stthomasproud.ca. Little by little, it’s making a difference and it is an honour to be a part of it.”
