Scottish History Comes to Life at Backus-Page House Weekend

5/17/2015

Picture
The Backus-Page House Museum was transported to Scotland on Saturday and Sunday – complete with the mist. Visitors were invited to step back in time to 1745 when “Bonnie Prince Charlie” and his loyal Jacobite supporters marched across Britain. A little fog didn’t stop attendees from enjoying skirmishes, music, camp life displays and storytellers.
This living history event shared an important piece of Scottish history which would lead, in time, to widespread Scottish immigration, including into the Talbot Settlement where the Backus-Page House is located.
