A parade was one of the highlights of the June 29th celebrations marking Sparta's 200th anniversary. Sparta was known for its great Santa Claus parades in the 1950s and 60s. Some of the old floats from that time appeared again.
Many visitors and residents gathered for lunch in front of the Community Hall, studied the many photos and displays set up inside, and had a look at a 200th anniversary display in the museum along with an exhibit Sparta historic building paintings by Connie Greger.
