Men getting together to slip into women's shoes in support of a great cause just seems to create a good-natured buzz. It's one that has grown each year and resulted in another successful event on Sunday for the third annual "Walk A Mile in HER shoes." Men, supporters and organizers took part to raise funds for Women's Place, Violence Against Women Services Elgin County's emergency shelter.
Open 24 hours a day, the shelter provides a safe place to stay, drop in counselling with a professional counsellor, and legal consultation for women across Elgin County. To learn more about this organization, visit www.vawsec.on.ca.
