With winter hanging on, the maple syrup season has yet to get into full swing, but Palmer’s Maple Syrup Festival is on. It's a great place on March weekends to learn about production of the sweet treat with woods and shanty tours, maple leaf branding and pancake breakfast available.
On Saturday morning Linda Temple shared some facts on maple syrup production old and new, and the modern process at Palmer’s from storage of the sap to reverse osmosis to remove 50% of the water, evaporation, finishing and bottling.
Visit Palmer’s Maple Syrup Festival weekends in March, 9am-3pm; 34308 Lake Line, RR #1 Port Stanley; 519-769-0007. Pancake breakfast is served by Port Stanley Lioness members and funds support the organization.
