The Port Stanley Sailing Squadron in conjunction with regional artists and The Art Emporium in Port Stanley created an art installation in the park east of the King George lift bridge, showcasing the culture and diversity of Elgin County. With the support of area businesses and the Municipality of Central Elgin, large metal frames were built and nine colourful painted sails installed in time to delight the crowds attending Harbourfest. This amazing installation will be on display until after the North American Soling Championships September 18th to 21st. |
Artists for the installation: Nicole Hodge-Warrick - Shapes Of The Sea; Sharon Veldstra – Spirit Of The Waves; June-Anne Reid – Night Sky; Robert Reid – Through The Hoop; Candy McManiman – Osprey Soaring; Robin Baratta – Mariner’s Moon; Carolyne McLeod – In The Race!; Sandra England – Stoic Presence; Debra Kubu – Crazy Sailing
