J.P. Cormier is known for his flawless delivery of original story songs, with lyrics most often based on true events. On Friday evening at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre, he shared a multitude of humorous anecdotes between musical numbers, sung in his gentle, magnetic voice. Most were presented in a laid back style that is in distinct contrast with what happens on his accompanying guitar where his fingers fly with amazing speed and precision .
Cormier noted that he had hesitated to embark on a solo tour, and thanked the audience for making it easy. They seemed happily charmed by Cormier’s music (and by his only companion on stage, his dog Jack).
