Several organizations in St. Thomas and Elgin County enthusiastically joined in the national Culture Days celebration September 29th to October 1st 2017. They invited public participation in well over fifty events at many locations. Find photos below from a few of Saturday's activities.
Luke & Caleb completed a craft at the Old St. Thomas Church (top right). Doreen Trethewey & Sherry McPhee appeared at various local sites in costumes created by Sherry (2nd row, left). St. Thomas Community Garden Coordinators Michele Desjardins and Darcie Beckley looked back on a good growing year (3rd row). Kellen De Vos and Kelly Wissink talked about Out There Creative Therapy and Kellen led the creation of a mural "From The Stix" (4th row). Artists and friends gathered for a reception for "In View of the Artist", STEPAC's annual group exhibition featuring local and regional artists (6th to 9th rows). "Relive Expo 67" opened at the Elgin County Museum with the premier of a new film by Juan Bello following the CECI band on their trip to Expo. Sandra & Mike Mortensen (bottom left) are two of the former band members interviewed in the film.
