Culture Days events feature free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind the scenes,” to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, and designers at work in their community. Thanks to all who shared. (Photos include contributions from STEPAC; Romantic Designs Art Studio; Elgin County Library; St. Thomas Public Library & Relish Elgin).
Culture Days 2015 in Elgin County & St. Thomas
Though we haven't named everyone in the slide show, we would like to thank all who appeared and who shared their enthusiasm and creativity.
Dianna Buckle and Gayle Collins took part in Dutton Culture Days Open House (photo at left). Both derive great satisfaction from expressing their reflections and observations in written word. Dianna started writing poetry since she retired and moved to the country near Fingal. Gayle graciously shared her experience related to a poem she started, on an impulse, about the death of a homeless man under a bridge she crossed each day in London. Suddenly moved to write when she was away from home, Gayle grabbed the nearest paper she could find (the back of some Dr. Pepper signs in a restaurant) and soon had three pages full. Gayle appears in a short clip on the video.
