It was a CAN contest to see who could collect more canned food – the Talbot Teen Centre or the CIBC branches in St. Thomas and Shedden. Exceeding their collection goal, the CIBC won hands down. On Tuesday they made good on their promise to deliver the goods (just under 800 cans or other non-perishables) – along with the agreed upon pie in the face to the loser. The pie hit was taken by Mark Girdauskas of the TTC -with a smile and thanks to the CIBC for the contributions. |
Two months ago, Dutton CIBC Branch Manger Cheryl Monteith was looking for a community partnership for the bank and was familiar with the work of the TTC. She came up with the food drive / competition idea and the race was on. The food will help feed the many teens who attend the TTCs programs.
