Poinsettia's on Parade at Family Flowers

The greenhouse was filled from end to end with 13,000 poinsettias for Family Flower's annual Parade of Poinsettias weekend. Those in search of holiday inspiration found it with holiday sales and decorations, holiday-themed trees, fresh greenery and wreaths along with refreshments and the live nativity animals.

Elgin Youth Help Deliver Message: Smoking on Screen Kills in Real Life

Last year, the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit estimated that in an average year 13,241 Ontarians aged 12-17 are recruited to smoking by watching smoking in movies.
On February 21st, Elgin Youth voiced their support for Smoke-Free Youth Rated Movies in a cross-border rally on the eve of the Academy Awards. Youth from Canada and the U.S. joined forces to deliver a stark message: Smoking on screen kills in real life.

Rural Roots Christmas Market Showcases Businesses in Western Region of Elgin County

The Rural Roots Christmas Market & Business Showcase featured local businesses, vendors, independent artisans, services and organizations from the western region of Elgin County. A steady stream of visitors came out to support and learn about local vendors at the Dutton-Dunwich Community Centre.

13th Annual Aylmer Christmas Tour of Homes

The 13th Annual Aylmer-Malahide Museum & Archives Volunteers’ Christmas Tour of Homes presented a chance November 14th and 15th to visit the museum and four homes decked out for Christmas. The annual event is an important fundraiser for the museum and is made possible by the home owners and a host of volunteers, businesses and community supporters.

Magical Afternoon at Steed & Co Annual Lavender Fairy Fest

Steed & Co Lavender Farm invited visitors to an afternoon of fun and lore at their annual Lavender Fairy Festival on Saturday. Kids came bedecked in wings and other imaginary dress-ups as did many of the adults eager to take part in the magical fun.
