The 13th Annual Aylmer-Malahide Museum & Archives Volunteers’ Christmas Tour of Homes presented a chance November 14th and 15th to visit the museum and four homes decked out for Christmas. The annual event is an important fundraiser for the museum and is made possible by the home owners and a host of volunteers, businesses and community supporters. |
Two of the owners who generously shared their homes were Jill Massey (photo bottom left) and Karen Driver (photo bottom right). Jill also owns "South and Pine Design", a design consulting company. While maintaining her home's gothic charm, she has made subtle changes to give more living space, like the addition of sliding "barn" doors. Karen designed her home in an open concept craftsman style, and decorated in a personalized and unique "cowboy cool" motif. At the museum stop, visitors were treated to food samples and the current exhibit “With This Ring”, a history of wedding preparation over the last 130 years. It includes several incredible wedding costumes dating back to the 1800s and is on display until November 29th, 2014. Find out more at www.amtelecom.net/~aylmermuseum.
