The revitalized St. Thomas Public Library on Curtis Street re-opened on Monday (January 16, 2012), after almost a year at their temporary Elgin Mall location. It was all smiles from both visitors and staff as the doors opened at 9am.
The space is bright, open and attractive. Quiet rooms upstairs just invite you to study something, and lots of comfortable seating areas are located throughout - one has a cozy fireplace that is sure to become a favourite.

On the main floor, check-out, computer and information areas have been given an updated look, and the adult fiction and non-fiction bookshelves have swapped sides. The biggest change is the John & Dorothy Palmer Youth Library - the new Children’s and Teen department downstairs. It’s a place where happy memories discovering the world of books are just waiting to happen.
It’s definitely worth a stop to check out the new revitalized space and services.
