St. Thomas Public Library’s is still proud to show off the newly revitalized library which re-opened earlier this year. Jeff Yurek, MPP for Elgin-Middlesex-London dropped in this past Friday (June 15, 2012) for his official tour with library staff.
So what does our MPP enjoy reading? Jeff’s favourite reading material, he says is biographies, and not surprisingly ones of political people. His daughter, however, is a fan of “Little House on the Prairie” – both daughter and wife have been enjoying the books and TV series over the winter.
A visit to the library is a reminder of the joys of summer reading for kids. The TD Summer Reading Club begins Tuesday July 3rd. The theme is “Imagine” and each Imagination Traveller will receive an “Imagine” bag filled with goodies; an activity booklet to record books read; access to activities and crafts. Registration continues in the Palmer Youth Library throughout the summer. Kids can read books to win tickets to enter draws for weekly prizes as the summer progresses. Special events, drop in games, crafts and activities complement the reading all summer belong. Check out the calendar of events at www.st-thomas.library.on.ca.
