Everyone was invited to “Come by bike,” to the Downtown Bike Festival in St. Thomas and many did just that on Saturday. Adults, teens and families converged on the St. Thomas downtown rail corridor near the L&PS Station to celebrate the fun of getting where you want to go by bike.
The Downtown Bicycle Festival was hosted by St. Thomas Railway City Tourism and organized by Elgin St. Thomas Public Health along with a host of supporting groups. Scheduled during the morning were a trike-a-thon, bike parade, bike decorating station, prizes and draws for several bikes. In addition spin classes, BX Tower Tours, helmet fitting, bike check-ups, chalk drawing, food, music, and a fish pond helped to create opportunities for learning and a festive and fun atmosphere.
