Ken Kokko aims to cater to a wide variety of interests with the show line-up at Kenny Iguana’s in St. Thomas. He has brought us a range of Tribute Bands, Karaoke, and even an occasional jazz ensemble. This past Sunday, the show provided a substantial divergence from the norm, on several levels, with a presentation by Scott McClelland of The Paranormal Show.
Photographer Mark Girdauskas was on hand to take some pics and enjoy the show. Mark was pleasantly surprised, crediting Scott’s attention-holding personality and stage presence. He “kept you wondering and thinking about the paranormal. I’ve been to several magic shows, but this one made you see things differently.”

For Mark, knowing a couple of the people who were brought up on stage made the show even more interesting. He notes, “They both had a great experience and walked away unsure how their segment was done. That’s the beauty, I think – I don’t like knowing how things are done. To me it was not magic tricks.”
On his website, Scott says he has spent the past 33 years creating “World’s that are Exotic, Strange and Whimsical. My work is driven by imagination and a need to make people feel excitement and wonder in their lives during the 21s Century.”

Anticipation for the show was built beforehand by rumours of the Kenny Iguana’s building being haunted – that suggestion was made more plausible by the fact that it is a very old building. A private séance held after the show would have been interesting. That, however, must be left to the imagination as no photos were allowed.
Though going into the show with a bit of scepticism, Mark says he was very entertained. Scott McClelland indeed proved his ability to generate in his audience, a feeling of excitement and wonder.
Via face book, Ken Kokko indicated he was pleased with the reaction to the Paranormal Show and is planning something a little different one Sunday every month. He suggests keeping an eye out for these Sunday Events…perhaps a litter more excitement and wonder to look forward to in 2012?
