
Great Beginnings Elementary opened at the St. Thomas Elgin Public Art Centre this past Saturday (March 10, 2012). The exhibit covers the walls with a vibrant exhibition of art from Elgin County elementary school students.
On Saturday, the gallery space was bursting with energy as proud artists brought families and friends to their opening.
Mayor Heather Jackson congratulated the artists, commending them for their unique, creative and talented work. As a member of the Art Gallery board, she noted that the Great Beginning exhibit is one of her favourites of the year.

Tyler, Tyson, MaryAnne, Paige and Bryce (above bottom left) were on hand to check out the exhibits, and Bryce’s Snowflakes. Bryce's mom MaryAnne noted that her son was thrilled to be invited to the opening and to bring his family to the gallery.

Great Beginnings continues until Saturday April 7. The Art Centre has long realized the importance of showcasing the artwork of children, and hosts the Elementary and Secondary exhibitions every other year.
