
On Friday, May 11, 2012 the Canada Southern Railway Station will be holding a Public Auction on the second floor in the east end Alma Suite. Viewing for the Auction is from 9:00am until 5:30pm and the auction will start at 6:00pm.
“We wanted to bring back the Friday Night Auctions that used to take place in St. Thomas. This is the first one and if all goes well we will be having a few more this year”, says Terry Cook, Chair for the Canada Southern Auction Series Committee. “The Canada Southern Railway Station is a great venue for this inaugural event and we have some fantastic items up for auction. Nobody will be disappointed with the quality.”

Some of the items in the auction include artwork from Clark McDougall, Lilliana Gomez, Betty Harmssen, Robert Kemp, S.H. Fulford, W. Richardson, Margaret Sharon and A.L. Granmaison photograph prints. Furnishings include Louis XV display cabinet, 1930 maple table dining room, marble top walnut dresser, early blanket box, bridge lamp, 1890 walnut English desk, Nova Scotia rocker, Collectibles include Alma College history, original A&W pedal car, a 1963-64 Toronto Maple Leafs autographed team picture, Nippon-Harden & Royalty China, 1919-19972 Brotherhood Maintenance of Way Log Book, 1870 early Elephant tin toy, plus more…
“We have had quite a few inquiries on when everything was going to start and we are pleased with the list of items that we have so it’s a go on Friday, May 11th” says Terry Cook. “We are still looking for consignments of good art, collections and antiques for our future auctions. All proceeds from the auction will go towards the ongoing restoration and maintenance of the Canada Southern Railway Station.
