(Photos by Mark Girdauskas) The Diamond Jubilee Award Ceremony for local honorees was held on Friday June 29 in the CASO Station in St. Thomas. As Canadians celebrate the 60 years of service by Queen Elizabeth II, the awards are being presented as a way for Canadians to also honour fellow Canadians and their service to community and country. Mark Girdauskas photographed each of the proud recipients, plus caught many candid shots throughout the evening during which MP Joe Preston and MPP Jeff Yurek presented 44 awards to local community members. Find a list of those honoured below the slide show with photos of each receiving his or her award.
