Great Beginnings Elementary opened at the St. Thomas Elgin Public Art Centre this past Saturday (March 10, 2012). The exhibit covers the walls with a vibrant exhibition of art from Elgin County elementary school students.

(Photos by Mark Girdauskas) St. Thomas City Council and staff took on Elgin County Council and staff this past Sunday (March 4, 2012), all in the spirit of cooperation and a good cause. County took home the trophy with a final score of 12 to the city's 10, and everyone won with donations going to the United Way. Mark was on hand to capture the action, see slides below.

(Photos by Mark Girdauskas) Mark was on hand Thursday evening (March 1) for the launch of Sham-Bock - Railway City Brewing Co's German style beer to celebrate an Irish holiday. That may be a strange combination but the consensus was the taste is great! An enthusiastic bunch turned out for the launch and Sham-Bock is a hit. It is a limited release, so be sure to stop in to get some for your St. Paddy's Day celebrations. Check out photos in slideshow below.
