SPARTA, ON. — With Anything Used and Sparta Country Candles set to celebrate their 25th anniversary in early 2017 the store has opened a new consultant division aimed at getting their products into the hands of customers who might not be able to make it to the historic Village of Sparta.
“Starting this side of the business is making the product more accessible to individuals that don’t know anything about our product, or for individuals that don’t drive,” Owner Pat says. “The biggest advantage to business consultants is the increased traffic that comes into their store, as well as a 100% money-back guarantee if they decide they don’t want to continue.”

Starter packages for business consultants include the ever-popular plug-in warmers, the melts that go in them (both large and small), the candles in a jar and candle re-fills. Sparta Country Candles will recommend their number one sellers to start, but scents can be chosen according to consumer taste after that.

Each representative goes through extensive training designed to familiarize consultants with the product to teach proper use as well as how to create two-way communication with customers that provides them the small town experience. For those close by a one-on-one training session will be planned but for those further away Pat has created a training video that can be used.

Through the program consultants will receive a 25% commission before taxes on all items sold. Participating businesses will also be advertised on all social media as well as in-store. This opportunity will allow businesses the opportunity to increase their walk-in traffic while also increasing their revenue.

With many locations in Southwestern Ontario ranging from St. Thomas to Woodstock to Zurich, Pat says the next step is to branch our further East into cities like Kitchener and Hamilton.

“The main thing is to get our product into stores that would make it easier for our customers to get our product on a regular basis,” Pat says. “We wanted to do this without changing the price so customers are buying the product for the same price they would pay when they come to Sparta.”

In addition to business consultants, Anything Used and Sparta Country Candles is also offering the opportunity to individuals who would like to become personal consultants.

As well as the popular line-up of fragrances (the store produces over 20 candle scents), there is also the regular addition of seasonal. This year’s Christmas scents include: Jack Frost, Santa’s Bake Shop, Winterberry, Cranberry, Festive Memories and Snowy Cedar.
