“The percentage of people smoking in movies is greater than the percentage of the population that actually smokes. We know that when kids see tobacco use on-screen, it increases the risk they’ll start to smoke,” says Leigh Ann Darling, Health Promoter, Elgin St. Thomas Public Health.
The Smoke-Free Movie Night will start at dusk.
The current forecast for Saturday calls for sunny skies throughout the day and an evening temperature of 20°C. In the case of poor weather, event cancellation information will be posted on the Elgin St. Thomas Public Health Facebook page.
