With just six weeks until the Port Stanley Festival Theatre season begins, the staff and board of directors have been busy preparing for a memorable grand re-opening of their newly renovated theatre.
“The support of our community has always been tremendous and this season is no exception,” says Theatre Manager, Melissa Kempf.  The local lakeside professional theatre is thrilled to have the ongoing support of businesses not only in Port Stanley, but St. Thomas and London as well.  This month the Branch Manager of St. Thomas and Belmont’s Scotiabank, Maria Santos, generously presented PSFT with a cheque for $2,500 as Season Sponsor of the upcoming theatre season.

“Scotiabank is proud to support the Port Stanley Festival Theatre as it brings characters to life on its stage this season,” said Maria Santos. “We believe that the arts should be accessible to everyone in our communities. The arts enrich all our lives, helping us appreciate different perspectives.”

“PSFT is very grateful for businesses such as Scotiabank for their ongoing commitment to play a part in our community and support the arts of Elgin County,” comments Brian Welsh, Theatre President.  This will be the third year Scotiabank has participated in the theatre’s sponsorship program and both parties are looking forward to the upcoming season with their ongoing partnership.

Along with funding from Scotiabank and the Ontario Arts Council, joining the theatre’s sponsorship program this summer are Graham Scott Enns Chartered Professional Accountants and Elgin County Tourism as Season Sponsors, Kettle Creek Inn, Studio Style, Wendy’s of St. Thomas, and Russell House Ladies Apparel as Show Sponsors, GT's on the Beach, The Windjammer Inn and Ships Ahoy/Elgin Custom Canvas as Event Sponsors, The Storehouse, Broderick’s Ice Cream Parlour, Family Health Options, Impressions Printing, McBain Signs, The New New Age and Tapas Bar & Grill as Community Partners, Port Stanley Legion and Port Stanley Optimists and Yurek Pharmacy as Youth Sponsor, and The London Free Press, portstanleynews.com and Coffee News as Media Sponsors.

Anyone interested in purchasing tickets for the upcoming season can find more information at the theatre’s website www.portstanleytheatre.ca or by calling the box office at 519-782-4353.
